Its been so long since I blogged I actually forgot my password.... Yowza.

But I've been journaling to myself more and more and even posting notes on Facebook that should be blogs... But I figured it was time I start blogging about stuff again.

I was thinking today - in between constantly checking the weatherchannel.com for updates on whats going on with the weather today.... Apparently its supposed to snow in Houston.... Though its almost 6 pm and I still haven't seen a flake.

Anyway back to my thoughts....

So I was thinking.... Do people think its disrespectful to curse while praying? I mean I do it but more to really emphasize a point than anything else... And when you pray its between you and God anyway, and since God knows you better than you know yourself, then wouldn't He know I want to curse? Isn't part of the point of praying to be truthful with your maker? And if you're not truthful with Him than who can you be honest with?!?!??!

Another religious bit....

How often are you supposed to turn the other cheek?????

I only have 4 cheeks on my entire body - and I think I've turned just about every one of them that I possibly can with regards to one person and I don't know how much longer I can do that without wanting to do something stupid like blow up at them.... Sure I could cut them out of my life but that could get weird since we have a BUNCH of mutual friends, most of whom know this person is unreliable and not really trustworthy. The ones that don't I feel bad for.... But then why I am even friends with this person if I can't trust them? I dont know.... They're not looking out for my best interests and try to (and sometimes succeed) in dissuading me from courses of actions that the outcome is uncertain..... And it could be something awesome.... But its like this person doesn't want anyone to be happy and they're only out for themselves... Not cool.

Other religous stuff....

Is drinking such a big deal if I drink socially? Sure my body's a temple but if I'm celebrating said temple with the occasional drink then whats the big deal? I'm not completely destroying myself with a little liquor here and there. Besides which Jesus turned water into wine right? So if HE drank wine, why can't I?????

Anyway its time for dinner and more Olympics in a bit.

Later.

Luke 6:27-31
[27] "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [29] If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as you would have them do to you.

God doesn't have time limits and knows all your thoughts, spoken or not, and he forgives... that's His grace... and drinking in moderation is not frowned upon, much like most anything else in moderation, eating, sleeping, etc... excess is what brings us troubled times...

just my take on it...
