Allrighty… Are you ready for this shizzle? I bet you aren’t… lol… Ok so play by play, blow by blow here it be… The weekend update of the millennium… Or something…
Friday 6 a.m. Mom and I leave the house. After a pit stop at Bright n Early for Mom’s coffee we leave town… We only stopped at Buc ee’s outside Luling before getting to San Antonio a lil after 9 in the a.m. They had already started shutting down the streets in anticipation of fiesta parades that would occur later in the day… Which is why we had to get there so early. We parked at the parking garage across the street and got to check in. Mom went off to do some stuff for her conference and I took off to see the Alamo. Which was only like 2 blocks from our hotel (the Hyatt on the Riverwalk). So I meandered through the Alamo… I had just missed the video thingy they had and I couldn’t find the gift shop… No biggie. I wandered around trying to find my way and figure out where I was in relation to everything (I had a map but I wanted to get a better feel for where everything was located.). Mom called me about 11:30 and we met back at the hotel for lunch. The service there sucked but the chicken caesar salad rocked…. So mom goes back to doing her thing and I go shopping at the River Center mall and went to the 3 D underwater IMAX thingy… I went back to the room to chill for a bit before mom came back and we went out to dinner at a Mexican place on the Riverwalk, where the host was hitting on my mom…. That was too too funny…. The food there was fair to eh… I’ve had far better chicken enchiladas… And Mom’s chicken was like rubber… And neither was even very spicy… That was just wrong… But at least they had sweet tea…. We did the river taxi around the riverwalk and then we run by CVS on the riverwalk on the way back to the hotel and Mom gets some wine (I knew she couldn’t go without an entire weekend…). We get back to our room about 9 or so and Mom goes out like a light. I manage to stay up a lil longer (like 10) before I’m down for the count too… And to think I’d been considering Pat Obrien’s for a drink… Yeah no not so much…. Also at some point on Friday I got to see part of the Battle of the Flowers parade that was part of fiesta… I think I text Richelle and Nathan something about trucks full of hot guys and me not doing a damn thing about it… That was a first…
So day number 2 in San Antonio. Saturday. Mom woke up early for her thingy and I slept til about 10… That’s right about 12 hours of sleep… I was tired as hell… I had a lil breakfast and got ready to go… I went to Joe’s Crab Shack on the Riverwalk for lunch, on my own since Mom was doing a luncheon with her group… Then I meandered around the riverwalk and over to the Alamo. I got to see that short film on the Alamo that I missed the day before. Then I had a funnel cake from one of the vendors and while I was on the phone with Jenn some weird random guy (not even attractive) came up to me and was like ‘Do you remember me?’. I was on the phone (thank God for Jenn…) and I like shrugged and told him no and turned away. I didn’t think anything weird would happen since I was in public surrounded by people and there were cops like every 20 feet…. And he just walked off… Thank goodness… And thank Jenn…. Speaking of cops…. There were a shitload of em all over. And most of em were hotties… I wanted to ask em if they knew Matt (who I tried to call and text but his Sprint must have been FUBAR again)just as a joke but they all seemed busy working… Darnit…. Ah well… Speaking of hotties… There were so many Air Force kids out… Girls, guys… And most of them seemed to not even been over 19…. I didn’t even want to molest the boys… It was rather shocking…. There were also a bunch of college age guys (I’m going from Southwest Texas State, whatever its called in San Marcos) that were adorable… Mom called while I was talking to Jenn and told me she was done til 4 so I went back to the hotel and Mom and I walked over to Market Square to go to the big Mexican bakery at La Tienda or whatever that restaurant is… Then we got some stuff there and walked back to the hotel. We got back and Mom goes back to doing her thing and I just chill at the hotel til she got back about 530 ish… Then we both changed and went out for drinks. First we went to the Menger hotel’s bar since Mom was just dying to have a drink there and reminisce about daddy…. Which I don’t mind at all, since my memories are a lil foggy and from the perspective of a little girl. Mom and I went to the Alamo (it was already closed) and took pictures in front of it like the tourists we were. Then we went to the Emily Morgan hotel’s bar. Turns out it was happy hour and drinks were SUPPOSED to be 2 dollars… I had a daiquiri and mom had wine… Turns out my drink wasn’t 2 it was 8.50 and there was a big to do about it. It was NOT a daiquiri worthy of almost 9 dollars. Anyway Mom swears she’s never going back, I don’t really care its not my kind of place anyway. So then we went down to the riverwalk and ate at this Italian place on the water. The spaghetti was crap (honestly tasted like Chef Boyardee out of a can spaghetti.). The service and the bread rocked though. Then we went back to the hotel. Mom crashed and I stayed up and watched tv til a lil after 10…. Sunday morning was a lot like Saturday, except after I got ready I had to finish packing and wait for mom to get back from one of her meetings. She got back a lil before noon and we headed to San Marcos, directions from the hotel in hand. After half an hour of sitting the parking garage waiting to get out, and 40 dollars for parking later we were finally on our way. It took about an hour to get to San Marcos and we spent about 3 hours there… Shopping til we dropped pretty much… I went to every store on my lil list of places to go except 9 West… I got a new Coach purse that’s adorable, I almost got a cute pink Kate Spade but decided not to, and Mom got a bunch of stuff at Micheal Kors. We also went to Pottery Barn and looked at furniture and stuff… We almost bought a dresser for 200 dollars but decided against it til I actually do have an apartment and I can check places around here. Like IKEA and Star furniture… So we headed back to Houston shortly before 5 and stopped for dinner in Schulenberg at this place called Frank’s. Then we made it back into Houston about 8 or 830… We unloaded everything and then Linz called to say she wouldn’t be there to study last night… Okay… lol…. So I went to bed about 1030 and got to work on time. Art’s going to come spray the house on my lunch break and I’m going to look into actually applying/putting a deposit down on that apartment on Westcott. In the meantime though I’m hungry and I haven’t really had breakfast yet, so I’m going to go see what I can dig up…. Laters.
