Not Your Average Jane

So I’ve decided I’m going to write my blogs from home from now on… Not that I’ve written one while at work since I’ve started my job. I’ve heard too many stories about people who wrote blogs at work getting fired… I know it was mainly for writing trash about the companies they worked at but better safe than sorry…
I have had a great first week at work… Everyone there is incredibly nice and very understanding of any mistakes I’ve made. Friday toward the end of the day, Marcia (the lady that hired me) came by my desk and how I was liking it there so far and if I planned to come back Monday or if they’d completely scared me off… She also said that she was glad she’d hired me and that she was really impressed with how well I’d been doing. I thought that was very cool of her. And I get paid on Wednesday, just in time to go to Greenfest Saturday. Whoo hoo…
About Greenfest… I don’t know why I’m not nearly as excited as I was last year… Maybe cuz I know what to expect this time and its not as new as it was last year? I don’t know… But I’m going and I know I’ll enjoy myself its just I’m having trouble getting worked up about it… Its weird… Ah well.
So as most everyone I’m sure is dying to know about, my weekend recap…
Friday night I stayed in and watched the Olympic opening ceremony and I fell asleep during Paul Walker on Leno… That’s just how tired I was… And I LOVE Paul Walker… Then I slept till like 11 Saturday morning… Mom’s been in Austin all weekend and Linz was over here studying Friday night and Saturday. I didn’t really do anything but watch movies Saturday. Saturday night I went out to the Firehouse and met Adela there. Brandon Jenkins opened for Honeybrowne… I don’t really remember much of it. But I remember I got to hear Texas Angel. Mainly cuz I did what I’ve been doing at a lot of shows lately, I sat back in the back talking. We sat down at a table in the back next to some cowboys (turns out later, they were really cowboys, but I’ll get to that in a second) and we were visiting and people watching. There was a man whore (turns out my ex doesn’t have dibs on being the only man whore in the world…. Lmao…) and some alterno kids (we wound up hanging out with them later that night), and a nasty old guy. Yeah the world needs less nasty old guys… Adela and I were talking about sex and dirty socks and this guy (I didn’t hear him, see him or feel him sit behind me) comes up, sits behind me (like against my back, since I was straddling the bench – EW!!!) and tries to get into our conversation. Adela very politely told him we were in the midst of a private conversation, He still didn’t get the point and I had to keep scooting forward (closer to the cowboys, wink wink nudge nudge) to keep away from him. He finally wandered away (thank God) and Adela and I declared the cowboys (Ben and Rob) part of our group. Turns out Rob (the better looking of the 2 in my opinion) is a real cowboy and he’s in his 2nd year of law school and had graduated from A & M… Holy crap! Plus he was tall and he had an amazing smile. And as far as I know, he’s NOT a musician, doesn’t plan to be, and can’t even play an instrument or sing… Whoo hooo!!!! We were talking and I think I amazed him with what a big baseball fan I am… And we were talking about Valentines Day and I jokingly asked if he’d be my Valentine… Fun times, I tell ya… Before they left (they both had to work today) we were talking about he’s like so do you come here a lot? (Yeah its an old line but I don’t care) I chuckled and I was like its kinda like my second home… He laughed a little at that and he’s like maybe I’ll see you here again sometime soon? I was like well I’ll be here Thursday night… And he told me he may try to come back… That made me smile big time…
So its official its not just when I’m with Richelle that I have awesome boy mojo.
Always good to know… So I was talking to B yesterday and we somehow compared Olympic speed skating to NASCAR… Something about how they went around in circles for long periods of time… Funny stuff…
But yeah the Bud shoot out’s on now and the 500 is next weekend PLUS Spring training starts next weekend so I’m a very happy chica… And I have to go run an errand or 2 so I’m outtie… Laters.
